OMAHA

Omaha poker is played with up to 10 players and four betting rounds. Firstly, each player is dealt four cards down. Subsequently the dealer opens five common cards in the centre of the table. At the end of the game each player has a choice of nine cards from which they combine the best five, however the player must choose two cards from their closed hand and three cards from the open common cards.

  1. In order to win the pot, the winning hand must openly display both hole-cards. The dealer helps in as far as possible to read the hand, but it is the player’s responsibility to protect their hand at all times. If a player verbally misrepresents their hand causing another player to discard their cards, the right to the pot may be lost and the player may be excluded from the game.

  2. In each betting round, a maximum of three raises are permitted. If only two active players are in the pot and a third raise had not already happened, then it is possible to raise as often as one wishes (Heads-up).

  3. Check and raise is permitted.

  4. If a player places a single chip the value of which being higher than necessary and that player does not call a raise, then this bet is only valid for the amount of the prior bet.

  5. If a hole-card is dealt open or if a card in the deck is open, then this card is exchanged for the burn card once all cards have been dealt. The open card is then the burn card.

  6. If a player shows their hole cards to another player, then each player at the table has the right to see these cards at the end of the game (Show one, show all).

  7. Omaha - High is played with two blinds, whereby a “Freeze-Button” is played. If for any reason a player misses a blind, they have two possibilities :
    • The player makes up for the missed blind, or
    • The player joins the game when they are in the Big Blind Position.

  8. A new player to the table must bring a Buy-In which is generally 10 times the table maximum

  9.  A player may only play with the money which he places on the table before the game starts. During the game it is not permitted to bring more money to the table. It is also not permitted to remove money from the table, unless the player leaves the casino or continues to play at another table. If the player leaves the table with his money for a short period, the player must return with the full amount to the table.

  10. Under no circumstances may the players make an arrangement whereby the pot should be split.

  11. All actions must be in sequence. Any action taking place out of sequence is not binding.

  12. If a player has lost all their money during a game, this player has the possibility to go “All in”, i.e. the player plays only for the amount to which they have contributed, all other money in the pot is played as a side-pot which the all-in player cannot win.

  13. The decisions of the casino management are final.
